SARITA AND CLARK - ENGAGEMENT SHOOT

Entry made by Tina:

This past Saturday I photographed Sarita's and Clark's engagement shoot. This shoot has been a while in the making, being continually plagued by bad weather. We originally planned the shoot back in late July, but it threatened rain so we rescheduled for late August, and it rained again. As Sarita began thinking someone didn't want her to have her shoot, we figured late September would surely work out - after all the monsoons would be over right? Think again!

As I drove towards Scottsdale Civic Center Park where we were scheduled to meet, I looked to the skies ahead to see a wall of black clouds, and then the rains hit in a torrent. Good god, isn't Phoenix supposed to be a desert - it just wasn't right, and I was beginning to think Sarita might just be on to something with her prior thoughts. I knew she had to be freaking out.

Luck was with us this time though and as soon as it had begun, it ended. Finally I was able to meet Sarita and Clark face to face and it was a pleasure. We got some really beautiful stuff. They will be getting married next year in Southern Florida so perhaps they might make another appearance on the blog - it would be nice to work with them again! Thanks to you both, it really was a lot of fun and worth the wait!

A TRIP HOME

Entry made by Tina:

Well I am finally back! I know - it has been a while since I last posted. I just got back from visiting my family in North Carolina for the last two weeks. The weather started offer miserably hot and humid the first week, but Mother Nature made up for that the second week by sending us beautiful fall-like temperatures and sunny skies.

I always love going home, since I don't get to visit often enough. I am an only child so my family is small, but I do get to see my mother, father, and grandmother - and of course the two family dogs, Louie and Mac, both west highland white terriers. I have posted photos of Louie before. He is the newest addition and at almost 2 years old is very, how should I say - spirited :-). I have not however, posted photos of Mac. He had his 19th birthday while I was there - amazing. I was fresh out of high school when he joined our family, so when you consider I am nearing 40, that is something else. I think you won't have much of a problem distinguishing the two apart.

My other love of going home is looking for tree frogs - I just adore them. There was no shortage this time around and I got several photos that I like. Overall, it was a great trip and mostly, it was just relaxing - which I needed before the fall season kicks in. Expect a lot of upcoming posts :-)!!!

LIGHTNING OVER THE PEAKS

The monsoons have definitely made a reappearance over this past week and we love it! We took this photo of the peaks with lightning snaking across the sky tonight - how amazing. It was a beautiful show - we just love monsoon season!!!

A SOUND IN THE NIGHT

We just wanted to post this photo of a little stowaway we found in our house. For the past couple of days we have been hearing scratching noises coming from inside a large box containing an old college portfolio. Tonight we finally emptied the box to find a tiny mouse making its home in it. Luckily it had done no damage to the portfolio, since all the images were covered in plastic. We almost didn't want him to go - he was so adorable!
